KFC remodel: Sorry, no extra side dish

kfcbox.jpg

So sorry to disappoint the folks who have been e-mailing us asking if the remodel at the 35th/Avalon KFC is going to add a franchise from KFC’s sister brands, such as Taco Bell or A&W. We just checked with the regional offices of Harman Management, the owner/franchisee. Regional director John Margo was out but a spokesperson for him told us there are NO plans to make that location more than a KFC. They say the remodel (here’s all the specifics, from the city permit files, on exactly what it involves) is moving along well, though they are not sure how much longer it will take.

I was truly amazed at the amount of salt in their “bowls” (we won’t even think about the fat)…there is more than a days needs of salt in just one bowl. People still really go here?

I’d wag my finger in shame at those that frequent the KFC too…but this weekend (midwest trip) we downed several sliders and chicken rings from White Castle. Mmmm mmmmm! Junk food is okay sometimes, just not all the time. :)

Maybe if the Huling properties are redeveloped West Seattle will get a Krispy Kreme donut shop for its arsenal of fat food franchises.

CG…when I lived right outside of Wash, DC at the end of the 60’s, there was a White Castle right down the street from me….a great place to go after clubbing on Saturday night…those little burgers sure were good :)

The remodeled one in White Center combined with A&W is fantastic. I go out of my way to get a rootbeer float and some chicken drumsticks.

KFC puts a secret addictive chemical in their chicken that makes you crave it fortnightly.

Sorry, comment time is over.
