A couple more beautiful, classic, houses with character going away…… :( >:(

Some people who read this blog are proud. Not me and thankfully not most of us.
I feel like weeping and whimpering every time there is a new post regarding developments like this. I love WS and feel like the possibility of ever owning a home here gets slimmer by the day.
are they going to offer off-street parking for their “two retail units”…?
Doubt it.. or if they do, the driveway (if you can call it that) will be so narrow that just one car can get through and the alley way that was not designed for this sort of use will be fun to drive down as well.
these two houses are across from (sort of) West Seattle Christian Church. Right next door is a parking lot that the Eagles put in as overflow right behind the Post office (they purchased a house, turned it into a parking lot – wasn’t there a song about that?). When I had an office outside my home(massage therapist), I was first at the corner of 42nd SW and SW Oregon, and then in a house 2 doors north on 42nd SW in a cute little 2 bdr. house. Some still consider this area sort of a residential area, altho it’s probably zoned differently. There is NO retail anywhere around there unless you go all the way to the junction, or over to Calif. SW. The face of West Seattle is changing…and sometimes change is good…but I wouldn’t frequent the businesses that go there if there is no parking. Just a thought.
Maybe the developer who buys these properties could hire an archetect with a fresh idea. I’m getting sick of the three story box popping up all over WS.
was musing with a client this afternoon…West Seattle Christian is getting ready to construct a new building right across from this site, Hope Lutheran Church is getting ready for a remodel, and maybe an addition…now…couple that with a condo construction across the street, funeral parking for any of these places (including Holy Rosary, or a wedding on saturday…what a fun block that will be…
Sorry, comment time is over.
