does anyone know if that old building on the corner is going to demolished too? i know it had been used to park extra mail delivery trucks.
Don’t know but I hope so, that building is an eyesore! I can’t imagine it will be long with the teardown trend that is currently all the rage in WS :)
Jimmy, the old building in the other corner will be demolished too. The new building will spawn the entire block on the SW Alaska side.
TJs would be best, but the QFC will be nice too. I hope they get started soon and that it won’t take years and years (like the Whole Foods).
Anyone know exactly when Schuck’s is supposed to get the wrecking ball? I thought maybe that because of the failed monorail project, Shucks and Hollywood Video might have had the same timeline in their lease. But maybe not since those propertie’s are owned differently. If Whole Foods here is built as nice as the one in Queen Anne, it will look pretty nice in my opinion after its done.
Do we need all of these grocery stores? I guess with all the multi-family…it’s a stupid question…it just seems like a lot! MM, Safeway, Thriftway, PCC, TJ, Wholefoods, QFC… hey, we need a Fred Meyers in WS!
Shoot – I still have a movie to return. Think my late fees will be waived?
After years of poor service at the Jefferson Square Safeway, I look forward to QFC in the Junction. Whole Foods is so expensive; I wonder if it will be successful.
could care less about a whole foods grocery store….just build a whole foods deli…yum.
i’ve never been in a Trader Joe’s so I couldn’t elaborate what they would offer me.
I live in Morgan Junction, and work in White Center. I rely on METRO for transportation, and rarely go north of Morgan.
I had a Dental appt Thursday morning that took me by that site. About all that was standing around 7:20 a.m. was part of a middle wall (which I didn’t notice at the time) and most of the east wall.
When I passed by, going the other direction a little over two hours later, was that section of middle wall I had missed before.
