does anyone know are there more king tides coming up? would love to go for a low tide late night walk

Tonight is tempting, but I have to get up early tomorrow. I’d love to have someone to go with sometime. I live near Admiral and 57th not to far from Alki.

The Envinomental Science Center is having an event tomorrow night.

I enjoyed the beach walk I went on with them. The volunteers know their stuff!

We’ve been writing about them on the main page … including mentioning the lows and highs in our daily previews (West Seattle Monday, West Seattle Tuesday, etc., published each morning), also tweeted last night from a late-night walk.

    here’s the overview:

West Seattle beaches: ‘King tides’ & very low tides ahead

    here’s our favorite tide chart:

Son and I were out last night for the second-lowest low tide. Tonight is the VERY lowest – 10:41 pm, -3.6 feet.

The highest high tides are Saturday morning at 6:50 am and Sunday morning at 7:34 am, both 13 feet.

Bring a light and good shoes. Otherwise wait until May/June for the greatest low tide in the day time.
