West Seattle Crime Watch: Targeted by taggers, and ticked

Those are portions of three photos sent by Mark – we’re not showing or publishing the entire three-letter tag on the fence, or the spray-paint vandalism on the van (a face on the hood and a splotch over the gas cap), but he’s wondering if anyone else had anything similar happen to them:

I live at the corner of 39th/Stevens [map], in the Admiral district. (Saturday) night someone tagged my fence and my neighbors’ van. Seattle police were called and the officer mentioned another incident with the “T(-)X” tag being used. Needless to say I am quite pissed and if anyone else has seen the same tag please notify Seattle PD.

Mark says it’s all been “removed” now, and while his neighborhood has not had a tagging problem before, a recent break-in has neighbors “on edge” and now they’re stepping up their vigilance even further.

    – It would be really great if everyone here on the WSB would enter the Graffiti Hot Line #(206) 684-7587 in their cell phone and when you are out and about and see graffiti call it in right at that moment. If you see someone in the act of applying the crap call 911.
    – And for any of the idiots that think they are ‘graffiti artists’, how about producing some real art without defacing property that is either privately owned, or owned by all of us, as in public property?

Our car got broken into last night – looked like they tried to steal it but failed because they didn’t know how to hotwire the car. This is the second time this has happened in the past couple of years. I’m irritated.

My neighbor had his fence tagged last week. We’re in the “Fauntleroy Heights” area, near 35th Ave SW and Trenton…I believe he called the hotline (he mentioned it) and he’s already sanded the grafitti off..too many bored kids running around this summer.

…oh, it doesn’t look like the same tag as what was on our block. Ours looked like the head of an eagle or something of that sort.

My car got tagged on Saturday night. It had a weird insignia (smiley face) and the “T-X” signed on it. Car was parked on 44th and Admiral and it happened sometime after Midnight. Ridiculous.

Three weeks ago this same area got hit with two break-ins. This is getting old.

There was a group of about 8 teenagers that also tagged property around Hiawatha field, including the building and misc. things throughout the park. They were caught on video and this all happened around 2:45am on Saturday night/Sunday morn. No ID’s on who the kids were though.

Sorry, comment time is over.
