West Seattle weekend scenes, inside and out

Yes, those geese AGAIN, though with a dramatic background this time – West Seattle photojournalist Matt Durham from mattdurhamphotography.com shares the photo, looking south toward Salty’s. (Personal aside: We are just back from there, where tonight we helped celebrate the wondrous wedding of our dear friend Shep, a West Seattleite who we’ve known since the year he, and we, arrived here, 1991. Mazel tov!) Now, from outside to inside:

The Kenney hosted its annual fundraising brunch today – that’s CEO Kevin McFeely circulating in the photo above – the main goal was to raise money for a fund that helps residents stay at The Kenney even if they outlive their financial reserves.

  4. I’m not over in that area a lot, but I dont remember being able to see the Mt from there. Is this a composite, or just an angle I haven’t found before?

    Thank you for the question. This is not a composite. As a professional photojournalist I have a responsiblity to to label my photos as a “Photo Illustration” should I alter the truth within the photo.
    The photo was taken with a Canon G9 25 approx. yards north of lookout #2 just north of the Don Armeni Boat Launch. The location, Lookout #2, can be found on a map through the Seattle Parks’ website in the form of a PDF.
    Thank you for the scrutiny. In this time of news and the web it is more important than ever that readers question the content of the “news”. It is our civic duty to question what you are being told both by the media and government. Under that microscope, comes the truth.
