JoBParticipantyes.. i know there are already two threads detailing the fine points of the arguments for.. and against the ballot measures…
but flowerpetal uncovered some pertinent info that we both thought too important not to shout about…
from flowerpetal…
“I just discovered an important piece of information. Maybe others knew already. From the King County Government’s webpage on voting I read that most of the ballot drop boxes have been removed. There is not one in West Seattle on Delridge any more. Ballots can be postmarked by 8:00 p.m. tonight or they can be dropped off at one of two drop boxes or one of three accessible voting centers.
Seattle, King County Administration Building, 500 Fourth Ave., 98104
Tukwila, King County Elections Headquarters, 9010 East Marginal Way S, 98108
Voting Centers are:
Election headquarters (listed above)
Bellevue City Hall 450 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue, 98009
Seattle, Union Station 401 S. Jackson St, Seattle, 98104
This is important news to me because I completed my ballot on Sunday and left it on the kitchen table this morning! “
so get it in the mail today
or plan for an excursion dwontown…

charlabobParticipantMore: If you take your ballots to the post office, make sure you know what time they switch the postmark time. They have to be postmarked by midnight today and just because you hand them to a person, doesn’t mean you’ve met the deadline. Once they switch the date stamp, you’re late :-)
All the drop boxes, individual headquarters, and accessible voter centers are open until 8.
AV Centers can also be used if you can’t find your ballot and want to vote in person. Um, someone whose name is part of mine did that very thing. :-)

JoBParticipantcharlabob..
i has always assumed that if i make the last pick-up for the day marked on the mail slot or box that it would be postmarked that day.
am i wrong?
those assumptions will get you every time.

sam-cParticipant<bump>
we sent our ballots in a week and a half ago cause I thought the election day was Feb. 2
:)
and reminder that it is not a new tax/ new levy- it is a renewal of an existing levy.

charlabobParticipantJoB, the problem is you can’t tell when the post office has incremented the date stamp. :-)
So dropping the ballot in the elections box just ensures you’ll get it counted.

JoBParticipantif the line at the mailbox at westwood is any indication .. there are going to be a LOT of very irritated people if the ballots in that mailbox aren’t appropriately time stamped… me included.
i just couldn’t get downtown today.
