Censored.wsbParticipantThere is a wrecked JUMP BIKE at 30th. ave. SW and SW Roxbury street. It has been run over by car, the back wheel is bent in half.
It has been there for a week now.
I guess that answers the question of does Jump keep there bikes if good condition.
Like do they charge the batteries?
If I could add a photo you would understand.
Do they check the brakes?
This bike has been run over by car.
But I guess its still for rent.March 25, 2019 at 9:50 pm #944865
WSBKeymasterHave you reported it to the company?
March 25, 2019 at 9:58 pm #944869
Censored.wsbParticipantNo. And it can just rust there, I don’t care to help unless they want to compensate me for my time and effort. There should be a reward for helping them.
My point is they do not know where their bikes are at all the time., so how can they maintain them?
How often do they charge the batteries? How often to they check the bike for damage?March 26, 2019 at 4:49 am #944887
mark47nParticipantPer the rules here, on the R&Rs, you must contact the business before you can rant about them. It’s states in the rules pretty clearly. If you contacted the business then you could get all of your questions answered. You can reach them on their website, Jump.com, and there’s even a phone number for them.
It’s pretty crappy to just leave it where it was if you were able to move it. Your demand that you should be compensated is ridiculous. It says far more about you than it does about the company.

Censored.wsbParticipantYour focused on my responsibility to move the bike or notify someone or read a disclaimer…
Your missing the point.
The owner has exclusive responsibility to maintain the bike and should know the status of the bike at all times. Such as battery charge and periodic maintenance history. This is not “fly by wire technology” Jump on a bike and the battery is almost dead. Someone could get hurt.Jump needs to clean up their act.

PonderosaParticipantIf you have a complaint, take it up with Jump/Uber. I don’t think anyone here is going to reimburse you for “your” time and effort either, and complaining to them might actually affect the outcome. Good luck!

mark47nParticipantAnd you’re missing my point. If you haven’t contacted the owner then you shouldn’t be ranting here. Jump’s easy enough to contact through their webpage.
The batteries are solar charged so no one runs around charging them…just like Lime Bike.
It’s a bicycle. If the battery is dead then pedal it like you stole it.
March 27, 2019 at 8:24 am #944987
PangolinPieParticipantJust a note that the Lime and Uber bikes can’t be unlocked if the battery is dead. I know this because I really wanted to ride one at Alki last weekend but almost every one I came across had a dead battery.

Censored.wsbParticipantI email JUMP and they picked up the wrecked bike.
The bikes do not have solar charging.
Jump has no way of knowing if the battery needs charging. (low tech software)
Software should report battery status but does not.
Only if a rider reports a low battery would Jump know.
JUMPs 1800 phone line does not work.
If you ride a rental bike, shows you know little about bikes. Its not a Disney ride Seattle.
Buy a nice bike don’t rent.March 27, 2019 at 11:29 am #945005
PangolinPieParticipantGeez, not everyone can afford to “buy a nice bike” and not every one cares to. Especially the very expensive e-bikes. If you have a problem with Jump bikes, take it up with them; don’t gatekeep on who is allowed to ride what bikes. :(

Censored.wsbParticipantWhat wrong never went to Disneyland?
Go buy a bike they are cheap,
Never know who has been using that seat before you.March 28, 2019 at 8:22 am #945059
PangolinPieParticipantYou’re obviously a crackpot, soarringcam. Enjoy your outrage.

buttercupParticipantSoaring cam, you are out of line with your critique and snootyness.
