hammyMemberThe parking lot at Jefferson Square drives me crazy. Getting in and out of there is a nail biting experience especially on a rainy day. Having all cars funnel out that middle lane is pure zaniness!

goodgracesParticipantThriftway, by far!!!!!

JanSParticipantHey..I’m afraid that the lot at the Admiral Safeway will be a combo of both when they remodel – lol…

SueParticipantSecond to Jefferson Square (to me) is the lot in back of Northwest Art & Frame – no visibility on the street when exiting due to parked cars, one lane of traffic in the alley driving lane, going in multiple directions, pedestrians who don’t pay attention, drivers who don’t pay attention, etc. Third on my list would be the Luna Park lot – if you can find a spot, you can’t get out of it without backing out blindly and hoping nobody swings into the lot from the Admiral ramp.

JimmyGMemberWorst due to poor design: Jefferson Square
Worst due to inconsiderate drivers: WS Thriftway

JoBParticipantis there a good lot in west seattle?
it doesn’t seem like parking was really on anyone’s planning list.

flowerpetalMemberI find Target to be the worse… O.K. maybe after J-Square. If your car is any wider than an envelope the spaces are too small.

JiggersMemberI think the high end condo’s took all the available land in WS. Jefferson Square need a facelift if you ask me. It’s way overdue for one.

thriftwaygirlParticipantUnfortunately, I am going to have to agree with goodgraces.
I love the place, they pay my bills, but I have a strong dislike for our lot.

KenParticipantIf experience is any guide, then Whole Paycheck will have a lot or garage that will equal any in WS for entitled drivers.
I once had a tow truck driver call the cops to make enough room to get a car out of the lot (U district) since no one would pay any attention to his flashing light bar. There were three confrontation away from the car in question while we were there, each involving people who would not yield to anyone trying to get out of the spaces.
The lot was normal size and had multiple entrances. The tow driver said he had had more problems within that lot than any other in the city.

JoBParticipanti would like to see centralized lots in business districts.. that way even gimps like me could park their cars and walk to a multitude of businesses.
This is one thing malls do right…

guidosmomMemberFunny topic, I have actually avoided both the Admiral and Jefferson square Safeway because I hate their parking lots! Also on my list of bad parking lots: Westwood village Target and Admiral Bartell’s.

BayouMemberThe Target parking lot drives me nuts! Did they plan it for a mass gathering of motorcycles or just clown cars? The spaces are so small and no one ever actually gets in between the lines.

guidosmomMemberBayou, THANK YOU! My partner has made fun of me for a while because I hate going to target because of their tiny parking spots! Now I have proof that it’s not just me. Thanks! I think they make their lot for clowns. I don’t even have a large car and I have a hard time! Have you notice that most larger cars/trucks take up 1 1/2 spots their?

mellaw6565MemberThe only way I can park my Jeep near Target in Westwood is if I park in the spaces inbetween the WAMU and the front of Target. They seem to be a little bigger over there.
I also think Met. Market’s parking lot, especially up front near the coffee stand, is crazy to navigate as well – and hard to back up from with lots of cars both ways.

JeannieParticipantWorst parking lot? West Seattle Bridge at 8 AM on a Monday.
August 23, 2008 at 3:01 am #634830
DunnoParticipantWest Seattle bridge, ha, wait til the viaduct is closed!!
Jefferson Square is yuk.
Thriftway a breeze, just can’t giveaway my secret.
We should all be walking anyway!

WSratsinacageMemberhmm, interesting, I agree on Jefferson Sq. As for TW, you shoulda seen it before they moved the house and added the lot to the south :) Never had much of an issue except when trying to leave the lot via CA Ave. I don’t shop there as often since I moved to Adm but MM and TW are my top choices.
This reminds me of something I saw across the street at the driveway to the lot behind Subway. Some fool pulled up and parked at the drive way entrance on CA.. as if parking in a drive way wasn’t enough, he/she was also facing the wrong way.

thriftwaygirlParticipantJust got back from the gym, and I think I might have to reconsider my statement about thriftway having the worst lot.
Allstar Fitness is pretty darn bad. With all the people with SUVs taking up 1.5 spaces, even on a slow day there is nowhere to park!!!!
