AliceParticipantI’m gonna do it again – and for all of you who wanted a little more warning – here you go!
Let’s watch the sunset on the winter solstice.
* When: Monday, December 21st 4:20pm, so come at 4.
* Where: Solstice Park
* Who: Everyone welcome (all ages) – just like last time: https://westseattleblog.com/blog/?p=23488
I’ll be there even with clouds, but not in driving rain, sleet, or snow! If it is beautifully clear (hah!) I may bring some binocs or a small scope for half an hour of looking at Jupiter.

charlabobParticipantYou should fix the headline — it says the 29th; imagine how mad people will be if they’re a week late :-)

AliceParticipantTHANK YOU!!!

AliceParticipantAll right – it is 3:25pm and you should be able to look out your window and tell that the solstice sunset viewing is STILL ON!
:)
Cross your fingers, and I’ll see you just after 4pm.
Follow my Twitter stream for further updates (@alicesastroinfo) because I won’t be posting here or anywhere else while I’m out and about.

charlabobParticipantI love Winter Solstice — am I the only person in the world who thinks of the first day of winter as, actually, the first day of spring — starting tomorrow, the days get longer. OK, that may be carrying “half full” to an extreme. :-)

JanSParticipantCharla, I always pay attention to that. I think tomorrow is 3 seconds longer than today, according to the charts…:)

WSBKeymasterAlice says more than two dozen people showed up – she caught a few of them on cam.

We wanted to go but three stories broke at midafternoon … the news always comes first. Though the solstice is news too!
