Went to post to the previous thread on this topic, only to find it went completely sideways & off topic and was closed to further comment.
Many businesses resisted offering wi-fi for fear of security breaches and loitering – ours included. But there are many potential customers in the community who either have home businesses, telecommute, are job hunting, are students, have to check their fantasy football stats, etc, etc… and they all need a place to park their laptops. So we finally got wi-fi and never regretted it. The only time “campers” would be an issue was during busy times when seating was at a premium (i.e., football season). But most people understand that one key to success for businesses in the food & beverage industry is turning tables at a reasonable pace and not turning away other potential customers because one person is monopolizing a four top. Not all understood (and misunderstood quite vocally sometimes!), but pleasing every single person doesn’t pay the bills!
