I am not all that new to WS and WC but never thought to ask: does anyone know what the logo means? I’m guessing unity of diverse groups but I’d love to hear the official answer. I’ve googled and read some history but haven’t discovered the answer. Anyone know?
The Chamber and the WCCDA led a process to develop the logo and I think he tag line is “growing a global village” so yes, somehing to do with unity across cultures since WC is one of most diverse places in Seattle and Country. Someone at either org could tell you more.
I lived in White Center for five years. Never had a problem. The funny thing it is anything but white..lol It was named after some dude back in the day so…It was a landump fill before, that’s how it got its nickname rat city. Besides the other trash hanging around it now.
A bit of background from coverage on our WC site White Center Now – here’s the WCCDA page which is linked from one of the stories we published there when the banners and then signs went up:
You could probably ping designer Kathi Wheeler to see if there is anything more to say beyond the celebration of diversity represented in the rainbow rings.
