biankatParticipantSquirrels love em. My mom was just up from LA and took a bunch home for her squirrely family. They went NUTS! I’m sending her more.

BBGuestMemberThere is a game I played in London called conkers. You put a hole in the chestnut and then thread a string through. Two (kids) then swing their conker at the other persons chestnut and whoever smashes the chestnut so that it falls off the string wins. I know, it is violent and dangerous (but fun too).

BBGuestMemberOne more thing, a few years ago I buried some just to see if they would grow and I now have two chestnut trees. They grow too big for my yard and will have to be re-homed. Want to sent them to LA Biankat ;-)

ToddinWestwoodMemberI have a couple English friends that came over and told me all about Conkers. One said “In England, you would be lucky to see a single Conker within broom handle distance from the ground.” we have them all over.
Last year, I actually joked about starting a W.S. Conkers League. ( It might still be in the archives.)

ToddinWestwoodMemberHE also told me that the schoolyards all over England were littered with broken Conkers.
