    Weighing some options …
Do you commute to Ballard? What is your transportation method? Do you love it, hate it? If you had a job offer in Ballard that would improve your life by 20%, would the commute cancel that improvement out? (Current commute is to Rainier Valley, just across the bridge and over Beacon Hill.)
How do you think the tunnel will change things?
Anybody want to re-start the Mosquito Fleet??

    Thanks!!

I don’t have a car and I commute to lower Queen Anne from North Admiral. During commuter peak times, it takes 2 buses and isn’t so bad. If I miss the commuter buses (the last one leaves Bell town at 6:45pm) then it’s 3 buses. Not sure where your start point is but the Rapidride shouldn’t be so bad. Splitting the C into the C and D, however has not made the punctuality any better.

The Monorail was supposed to be up and running in 2009. But maybe we’ll have light rail in 2033.

Helihu: I can’t speak for everyone but I used to live in Interbay just south of the Ballard Bridge, when I moved over here to WS, I kept attending the Ballard LA Fitness until I got settled in over here, the commute was a bear to say the least. Ballard is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city unfortunately the only time I go over there is when I get tattooed and I spend the entire day over there because getting to and from is beyond challenging. I don’t know what it will look like when the tunnel opens, but remember that will be tolled. Currently, the wishy-washiness of the viaduct can make it a speedy or super lengthy commute, especially when traffic is bumper to bumper from Western Ave all the way up over the WSB, Fauntleroy and slow on 35th. I assume that with the changes they are making to Fauntleroy (mainly the removal of the right turning lane onto Oregon will also have an exponential impact to traffic coming westward over the bridge). If the job is that great of an opportunity it may behoove you to take it and think about moving closer to that neighborhood; if it isn’t downtown, Beacon Hill, Sodo, or the south end WS isn’t the greatest option for commuting out.
