kailaroseParticipantSeeking energetic and caring daytime home caregiver and companion for 17-year-old girl with cerebral palsy. Bring your sense of humor and positive attitude! Duties include assisting with all activities of daily living, including transfers from bed to wheelchair and back, and transfer from toilet chair to shower chair. Hoyer lift available to assist with transfers in bedroom. You’ll do meal preparation and light housekeeping, as well as assist with homework and accompany on social outings. Hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-9pm in the South Delridge/Westwood neighborhood, with occasional opportunities to stay overnight and be paid for 24hrs/day. Job share acceptable, if you have a friend you’d like to split the hours with.
Candidate requirements: Strong enough to transfer 75-80 pound person safely. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must have a driver’s license and feel comfortable driving a wheelchair accessible van. Spanish bilingual a plus!
Pay negotiable; minimum of $15/hr and up to $23/hr for an experienced CNA. We are willing to train on the job, so if you don’t have experience but you’re willing to learn, this is a wonderful opportunity!

I am a 50 year old female living in the North Admiral area of West Seattle. I have over 20 years of experience working with people of all ages in their homes. I have a deep respect for my clients and am very comfortable in this environment. My previous experience included assisting clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s and physical challenges in their homes. I am currently a bath aide for a client that is handicapped. My duties in the past included ADL’s, meal preparation, companionship, light housekeeping, medication reminders, charting and transportation. I have an excellent driving record and a car. I also have excellent references.
On a personal note, I enjoy reading, walking, children and all animals!
