wakefloodParticipantOk, bought an ebook of his called life after life. Earlier than the one mentioned. I’ll give it a read.

VBDParticipantI too would like to know what other research has been done. It should be possible to add legitimacy to these studies by using some double blind techniques. The fact that parents are responsible for much of the documentation is problematic. It reminds me of the “facilitated communication” debacle that occurred several years ago.
Another concern is that these stories are being represented as reincarnation. There could be many possible explanations. It seems premature to assign the answer before the question is finished being asked.
Labeling it as reincarnation is a pretty bold leap. Sort of like labeling a mysterious light in the sky an alien space ship.
One needs to keep an open mind.

metrognomeParticipant“And then I felt even deeper in awe at this capacity we have to be in awe about something. And I became even more awe-struck at the thought I was in some small way a part of that which I was in awe about. And this feeling went on and on and on and on. My space chums got a word for it, ‘awe infinitum’. ‘Cause at the moment you are most in awe of all you don’t understand, you’re closer to understanding it all then at any other time. And I felt so good inside, my heart felt so full, I decided to set time aside each day to do ‘awe-robics’.”
I was reminded of this quote from Lily Tomlin & Jane Wagner’s play, ‘The Search For Signs Of Intelligent Life In The Universe’ when I read that they were married on New Year’s Eve after 42 years together. I’ve seen the show twice; if you haven’t seen it, it is well worth it. Until then:

JTBParticipantI think Lily’s comments are profound, particularly the first two sentences. I think it was Jung who said (more of less) a key to distinguishing between the ramblings of the ego and a direct experience of something deeper in the psyche (what some might consider a spiritual experience) is whether it is truly awesome. Is it so powerful that the activity of the ordinary mind is brought to a halt and other elements come forward?
