WSBKeymasterMetroblogging Seattle’s ‘blog tournament’ got snagged on a site redesign about a week ago but they have come up with a “final three” that includes WSB (also WS-based Accidental Hedonist). If you are so inclined, please go vote (this is a direct link to the poll – Metblogs can’t embed objects any more):

thanks

WSBKeymastersorry, their previous poll widgets didn’t behave that same way (no separate url’s) so I cut, paste and assumed. thanks for finding the better URL!!! looks like they also have this set up for one vote per IP address :( will add to the home page later but appreciate you guys getting the ball rolling.

JenVMemberas of 3pm, WSB has pulled ahead!
March 11, 2008 at 10:30 pm #618304
WSBKeymasterBy the way – whether we win or lose, we’re planning on going to the Metroblogs “trophy party” for the blog tournament and everyone is invited – they’re having it over here in WS, 6:30-8:30 pm Friday at Skylark (that’s before they go 21-and-up at 9 pm). Looks like Mona (from kirida, funniest momblog EVER) might even be there … as will CeRo, the Alki resident who’s on the Metblogs team.

flowerpetalMemberWhen I attempted to vote it said Sorry you cannot vote repeatedly. But I hadn’t voted! Boo Hoo.

WSBKeymasterI bet I know the deal – you have a shared IP address – so it’s definitely sorting by IP address, and even though it wasn’t you specifically, somebody else from that IP address already voted. I will point that out to the MB people, though they’ve already had enough H&D with this whole thing that I doubt they’ll make one more change. (One entire bracket was killed because of a cheating scandal involving a couple of sports-fan sites!)

ErikParticipantJust sent my vote in from AZ, amazing all the WS transplants down here!
March 12, 2008 at 3:34 pm #618311
addParticipantUh-oh, WSB is behind by 7 votes! Get thee to the polls!
March 13, 2008 at 3:12 am #618312
charlabobParticipantThe charla and the bob have separate machines (and IP addresses) and Bob got the “You’ve already voted” message when he tried to vote for the first time. Anyone figured this out? Thanks!
March 13, 2008 at 3:38 am #618313
WSBKeymasterDoes the bob access from say a work IP or something else that’s likely to be shared with others? that seems to be a flaw. Thanks for trying, though, we appreciate it!
March 13, 2008 at 3:41 am #618314
charlabobParticipantnope — we’re talking about IPs at home — unless our kitties logged on while we were gone, we have complete control over them.
March 13, 2008 at 3:50 am #618315
JoBParticipantyou never know what cats will do:)
March 13, 2008 at 3:52 am #618316
JoBParticipantSeattle photo is ahead by 9 votes at 9 on wednesday… WSB members.. show some support!
March 13, 2008 at 4:19 am #618317
WSBKeymastercharl, our cats would log on if they could. We do catch our boycat near our son’s laptop sometimes in the early morning. Hmm. Anyone remember that old Steve Martin routine about ordering $1,000 in cat toys, and you can’t take them back cause …

JoBParticipantMarch 13, 2008 at 7:49 pm #618319
SueParticipantI voted at home on my laptop, and my husband tried later from his own laptop and it said he had already voted – the only thing we could think of is that we share the same wireless router, so it read that as one vote. So he just went through his work VPN system and voted once that way.
