Every vote counts and we need yours!

Referendum 71 asks Washington voters to approve or reject the domestic partnership law that the Legislature passed and the Governor signed in May. Unless we vote APPROVED, families like mine will lose important state-level rights already available to married couples. These include the ability to use sick leave to take care of a seriously ill partner without threat of being fired, and pension rights for firefighters, police officers, teachers and other public servants.

Referendum 71 asks voters to approve or reject the domestic partnership law. Vote APPROVED to preserve the law and protect ALL Washington families. Approve71.org

I appreciate the guy waving a sign at 35th and Fauntleroy in the mornings. The anti 71 people seemed annoyed by it.

    Good job.

I was happy to see the approve ref 71 guy yesterday and today. The reject guy was getting a little old. The reject signs sure are ugly!

I’m sure we all remember the horrible story of Kate Fleming’s death in her own basement when it flooded two years ago. How anyone can compound that tragedy by not supporting the rights covered in R-71 is beyond my comprehension.

This is testimony in Maine for gay marriage. I think it should be used for REF 71 too! Truly inspiring words from a generation often unheard from in this way. http://bit.ly/4yYSbd

I’ve been reading a lot of ‘other’ blogs/TV station comments pages, etc.. It simply boggle my mind that what the ignorant bible-thumping boneheads in this city say. Sadly, I have to deal a number of these morons at work, and the hatred and ignorance is astounding.

The ads with the woman who’s partner died in the flood…that parter was a business associate of mine. It was simply STUNNING how badly her partner was treated after her death. That experience alone (and, well..some freakin’ common sense) was all I needed to put my YES vote down.

Very nasty stuff over on Craiglist’s Rant & Rave.

Between that, and some of the comparatively minor, yet still offensive posts on other blogs/comment pages, reinforces my gratitude to WSB, for having, and holding to standards here on the Forums, as well as the main site.

CL rant & rave is the absolute lowest spot on the entire interweb. Worst of the worst. I’m glad it exists if only to keep those people occupied doing something relatively harmless and out of the way, assuming they’re not mostly prison inmates.

    Yes on 71!
