griffa2MemberPlease use caution when you go to the new Denny Park on 30th Ave SW and Cloverdale. I took my two year old there and was really disappointed in the playground design. It has two VERY steep slides and it says it is for age 5 and older. I wish the planners and parks dept. would add a toddler area with swings. There are so many little ones and two preschools/daycares that I know of in our neighborhood. I wouldn’t let a five year old use the equipment at this point. It is really unsafe and I’m afraid someone is going to get hurt!

luckymom30ParticipantGo to another park, go for a nice walk or ridem
E C Hughes and many other West Seattle area parks offer toddler gym and Lincoln Park has some of the best toddler swings around. For warmer days E C Hughes has a great wading pool. When your child gtes older you will find you have the same problem everything will be more geared to the younger kids.

ghar72ParticipantThere is a playground down the hill at the community center. I’m not sure if it’s gated off or not. I think it’s intended for the preschool at the CC there, so I’m not sure if it’s open to the public or not. If you follow the path down the hill from the upper playground, you’ll see it tucked right behind the building. Looked more appropriate to the younger age group, but haven’t had the kids on it so not certain.

MercyMoiParticipantThis discussion makes me think of this photo WSB linked during the Hiawatha Centennial celebration last fall…

BonnieParticipantWhen my kids were little I used to bring them to the Puget Ridge Tot lot. I think it is 23rd & Croft, up the hill from Delridge over by Sanislo school. It is perfect for little ones. Gated and they can’t get out until they figure out how to open a high gate.
