Sound Transit bus 560 Westwood Village Bay 4–where is it?

I’m a regular bus rider but it seems like all the various transit agencies have made so many changes and alterations, I can’t keep up. Also cannot find a map of the bus bays at Westwood.

Heading southbound to SEATAC on the 560 at 6AM Wednesday.

Need to know which bus stop is the southbound 560.

transplantella, I *believe* Bay 4 would be the stop, S/B on 25th, just north of the stop sign at Barton.

I see the 560 laying over all the time, just south of the driveway on 25th, that is inline with Henderson St. (I wait for the 60/125 at the long time stop north of the driveway all the time).

I don’t know if they will actually load from that layover spot, but am almost 100% certain I have seen the 560 listed on the sign, as one of the routes that services the stop up at the corner.

From a Metro rider for most of its nearly 40 history, (and bus geek) who can’t keep up anymore either! ;-)

I am 99% sure miws is correct. The 560 northbound ends at 25th just next to Staples then in drives south along 25th and becomes the southbound bus. I would arrive early and double-check the signs.

The 560 seems to “layover” closer to Bank of America near the DMV, but it actually picks up on 25th by Rite Aid. There’s a sign for Bay 4, can’t miss it. I was a bit worried about missing it for a trip to Seatac right after the route was changed to terminate/begin at Westwood Village, but it was fairly easy to find. Good luck!

Got it! Group hug and thanks to all.

So it’s on 25th on the side of Rite Aid, the old #22 bus stop.

—I can’t figure why they’ve got bus stops spread all over a five block radius down there. And I didn’t want to roll my suitcase around half the neighborhood looking at bus bay signs.

I know better than to call Metro and ask them, as I might spend half the day on hold waiting for the next customer care specialist, who also didn’t know which bus stop Bay 4 might be.

But you guys rock! Of course.

Thanks for the confirmation on that being Bay 4, CMP.

I tend not to remember, or even notice the “Bay” numbers, I think from probably riding Metro for so long, before they designated selected stop by Bay number, I only tend to notice only the bus stop sign itself.

Similarly, I-5 and I-90, in our State, didn’t have “Exit” numbers until maybe sometime in the ’80’s(?), so I always describe the exit by name, and rarely know the exit number.

And yeah, I’ve noticed the 560 sometimes laying over in the 60/125 layover area, and then have also seen Metro coaches, that would be either a 60 or 125, having no choice but to layover, at least temporarily, south of the Henderson driveway. So far, it appears the driver will go around the block (somewhere), to get back into position to service the BoA stop.

That’s a really crowded area for bus layovers, especially on weekdays, since the 60 runs 20 minutes apart. So, typically, there can be two 60’s and at least one 125 laying over, and now, potentially, a 560.

Seriously, if you have Metro questions, Miws is the one to ask. Don’t even bother with the Metro helpline…when I’ve called them, they never seem to be aware of changes, such as those caused by construction. Miws, on the other hand…

Thanks for the vote of confidence and compliment, Halyn! :-)

I’m pretty Metroknowledgable, but do have to give the caveat that I don’t feel quite as much so as I used to, what with all the changes. And not just with the major changes last Fall.

Hopefully, at least, I can steer folks in the right direction, and will always try to remember to mention when I am not nearly 100% certain of particular advice I give.
