missaudreyhorneParticipantAm I the only one who is happy at the prospect of snow? It makes the holidays seem more….holiday-y?
December 7, 2008 at 9:12 pm #649087
addParticipantApparently it’s snowing (or at least flurries) over on the Olympic Peninsula (Sequim)…

WSBKeymasterI like the guys at KOMO, used to work with them, but the MOST accurate mets in town are my most recent former co-workers at 13. Walter Kelley and M.J. McDermott in particular. Walter will be on tonight if he’s not on vacation. Nothing online at their site, sadly, so we turn to the “forecast discussion” from the NWS:
http://www.atmos.washington.edu/data/disc_report.html
This is updated twice daily and indeed mentions some concern about the end of next week, concluding:
“WILL NEED TO CONTINUE WATCHING THIS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS AS A CHANGE TO COLDER TEMPERATURES AND VERY LOW SNOW LEVELS ARE POSSIBLE.”

NoelleatAlkiMember“Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” it NEVER stays for very long and its so magical when it comes drifting down from above! There is no need for SNOW to be the weather that must not be named. LOVE the fluffy white stuff! Hunker down with a cup of coffee, tea or coco and really enjoy it!

WSBKeymasterNational Weather Service official forecast just updated to include the “s” word …

AdmiralJanewayParticipantI hope it doesn’t snow. Signed up for a run next Sunday. If it snows, I’m staying home.
I’ll prepare myself for a week of local news teasers about the snow.

keleesoMemberI hope it does snow. About 13 years ago I moved here from Salt Lake and for 3 years, around the end of November, I would start dreaming of snow. It stopped for a little while but as of 2 or 3 years ago, I have started dreaming of snow again! BRING IT ON!

JoBParticipanti do want it to snow.. i am just not sure i want it to snow this weekend;)
December 8, 2008 at 4:29 am #649096
JanSParticipantfor those of you who haven’t been in the Pac. NW for very long….I’m sure they’ll flipflop more than once before it actually happens, if it happens…weather said MOnday the 15th, and maybe Saturday te 13th…now it says, Sat. and Sunday, and sunny on Monday…
oh, and then there’s the convergence zone…where the snow actually falls…that’s up north..Everett, Snohomish…it could be perfectly nice here, and snowing there, which is the case more often than not…
but I think I’ll buy TP anyway ;-)

RSMemberYay snow!!! Snow that doesn’t stick around and doesn’t need to be shoveled and doesn’t turn gray and crappy on the city streets!! I love checking the weather in my old home town of Boston this time of year and cackling with glee that i don’t have to deal with snow like that anymore.
Jo- I definitely recommend the train!! Very relaxing and much better views than driving! Much safer and less hassle for you too.
December 8, 2008 at 5:12 pm #649098
JenVMemberyay snow! this is the year I have decided I will learn to drive in the snow if it does happen. please take that as fair warning. :P
December 8, 2008 at 5:15 pm #649099
bunnypugMemberI also highly recommend the train to PDX, and if it works for your schedule I find the Cascade train & amenities far preferable over the Coast Starlight.
December 8, 2008 at 9:03 pm #649100
JoBParticipantthanks bunnypug and rs.. i have trained before.
the only thing i don’t like about taking the train is that when i am visiting friends… and i will be this for at least one night… i don’t get to have my own agenda when i get there…
but it is looking better all of the time.

villagegreenMemberSnow + hills + Seattle drivers = hilarity. I love snow!
December 8, 2008 at 9:51 pm #649102
celeste17ParticipantAs long as we all can get to White Center for the Holiday get together I say let it snow.
December 8, 2008 at 10:54 pm #649103
beachdrivegirlParticipantI love the snow!! I miss it so much from growing up. Although I do have to say it cracks me up watch Seattlites drive in it…
