JanSParticipantPeople who may be at home, thinking it’s chilly, so building a fire in the fireplace? That happens in my neighborhood.

WSBKeymasterIf you’re not sure, be sure to report to the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency. Complaint form is an easy link from home page of
By the way, I checked with them re: the ongoing occasional mysterious smells … they have no particular investigations open … but reiterated to urge people to report such things so they can start to see if there’s a pattern.

squareeyesParticipantWhat part of Seaview? I smelled smoke yesterday and asked my next-door neighbor if it was their fireplace. They said no, but noted that the neighbor directly behind me has had a small fire going in his backyard for a couple of days.

JanSParticipantsquareeyes..so neighbor has an outdoor fire to burn leaves and lawn debris, maybe? Does anyone know if this is illegal in the city? If it’s bothersome, you might want to check with the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency.

squareeyesParticipantIt’s the first time I’ve ever noticed him burning anything – assume he’s doing a yardwork project. But not bothersome; wasn’t any more smelly than someone using their fireplace. I’m a bit paranoid so usually ask around find the source when I smell smoke.
