SnackMemberYes we sleep with the bedroom window open and we also smelled smoke when we awoke this morning at 6;00 AM. It smells like what I remember forest fire smoke smells like. Could it be an East wind bringing smoke from the Eastern Washington fires.? Belvidere.

miwsParticipantThat’s quite possible.
I believe I’ve heard of the smoke/smell traveling surprising distances, and Cle Elum is only about 80 miles away from Seattle.

JayDeeParticipantI live in upper Alki and with a north wind I can smell the fires at the beach, especially when they are doused. Wind has to be just so.

JanSParticipantI am on 42nd directly east of Admiral Safeway, and I can sometimes smell the Alki fires, too. I like the smell. And sometimes in the middle of the night I hear the seals/sea lions barking? It’s kind of comforting, really..

I smelled it too and now am having eggs and pancakes with potato chips, sour cream and maple syrup while listening to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, man does this taste great!!!!

sbreParticipantJan, The marijuana-munchies will do that to you, cause normally un-related items thrown together sound & taste simply fantastic.
Some of the combinations we came up with in high school…
