In the past, there’s been a candlelight vigil by the Alki statue of Liberty. I have also been to a vigil at the fountain in Seattle Center. Do not know if anything official is planned, but it seems people spontaneously show up at Alki every year.

Last year was the unveiling of the recast statue (separate from this year’s dedication of the new plaza), on Sept. 11, so that somewhat precluded separate events. If anything is scheduled anywhere in WS, we haven’t received a news release or other notification. We’ll be visiting the statue later to see if flowers/etc. have been left, which has happened most previous years, at the very least .. TR

thank you, i think it is very important to honor the people who lost there lives on this day not only for our sake but to show our children that we have not forgotten.
