JanSParticipantwhere can you get deep fried pickles in West Seattle?

935ParticipantShadowland has them.
You may have to wade through beards and skinny jeans to get to them though.
Seriously though, they are delicious. But they do have a problem with prompt service. Don’t go there rushed.October 11, 2016 at 12:18 am #860562
JanSParticipantbeards are sexy, skinny jeans no longer go with my body – lol…and High Strike Grill will have them this week and next, I’ve found out. I’ve also heard that Westy on 35th SW has them..alternatives…
thanks for the info :)

2 Much WhineParticipantTechnically not considered West Seattle proper but The Crawfish House in White Center can hook you up with a huge basket of fried pickles for a mere $2.50! It’s a bit of a funky place but it’s almost always packed and there is a reason for that. I have not tried fried pickles from many places so I have no idea how these compare to other fried pickles but we order them every time we go and they are quite tasty. I also recall that Burger Madness (near the 4th Ave. Costco) has fried pickles as well but I remember leaving the restaurant with a mental note that I wouldn’t order them there again (I think they were too expensive for a pretty small amount).

Directions
Make the sauce: Mix the mayonnaise, horseradish, ketchup and Cajun seasoning in a bowl; set aside.
Fry the pickles: Heat 1 inch peanut oil in a pot over medium-high heat until a deep-fry thermometer registers 375 degrees F. Meanwhile, whisk the flour, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 cup water in a large bowl until smooth. Spread the pickles on paper towels and pat dry.
Add half of the pickles to the batter and toss to coat. Remove from the batter using a slotted spoon, letting the excess drip off, and add to the oil one at a time. Fry until golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes; remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Return the oil to 375 degrees F and repeat with the remaining pickles and batter. Serve immediately with the prepared sauce.
