I’m pretty tired of the mayor always telling me what I need to do… I NEED to conserve water by using low-flow devices and flushing my toilet less often and “I’ll save money”, I NEED to spend more time sorting my garbage and recycling and “I’ll save money” , I NEED to use less electricity and “I’ll save money”. What I NEED is a new mayor!

    trisket..

maybe you do need a new mayor.. i’m not so impressed myself..

but you still need to conserve water by using low-flow devices and flushing your toilet less often to save water….

and you still need to spend more time sorting your garbage and recycling to put less pressure on landfills..

and you still need to use less electricity so that there is enough to power everyone’s needs…

and you’ll save money doing all of that.

aren’t you lucky that you are getting some benefit from all this ;~>

JoB- You totally missed my point; which is I don’t NEED to do anything. But thanks for trying.

Also- you save money for about thirty seconds until utilities raise rates to make up for lost revenue.

    Trisket..

i didn’t miss the point at all.

we all need to do those things if we are going to survive together very long on this planet.

You don’t want to. I don’t want to some days either.

I too get my hackles raised when someone tells me what I “need.” And there are also times when we talk about the collective need of all and it comes across as being told what someone personally needs to do. I have to catch myself on that frequently.

Trisket, I hope you are planning (along with others) to work towards electing another mayor. He had a healthy lead in the last two elections. Councilmembers too. Afterall, they are the ones who legislate this stuff you are addressing.

    These are frustrating times.

lol.. my apologies.. it was originally an attempt to be humorous…

about a subject that i feel deeply about.. so it probably didn’t come across that way..

and BTW.. Mayor Nichols is not what i feel deeply about…

i will back slowly out of the room…………

    trisket..

that is probably something we can agree on.. if we find a good replacement candidate…

sometimes the one you have isn’t so bad in comparison to the one you might get…

I need a new city council, too.

Yes BDG – everyone always focuses on the Mayor. How many people can actually name City Council members and track how they vote? I think people would be astonished at how many Council members are in deep in the pockets of developers and special interests. People should pay a lot more attention to those races than just the Mayor’s race. Same with Ron Sims and King County.
