This morning, while driving my son from our home in Arbor Heights to Denny, I spotted no fewer than 6 vehicles (INCLUDING A SCHOOL BUS) driving in moderately heavy fog without their headlights on. To make matters worse, all the vehicles (except for the bus) were dark in color. Come on folks, the idea is not so much to see but to be seen.
Not really an excuse, but so many newer cars have lights that automatically turn on when it is dark that we forget to manually turn them on otherwise. My Highlander doesn't turn on the lights automatically hen the windshield wipers are on which I find kind of dumb.
This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine! Just turn the lights on when you get in the car- it will become habit forming, trust me. Even when it is sunny out I turn my headlights on- for some reason people love to cut me off every time I go for a drive so I need all the help I can get at making my car visible.
