Did anyone witness two 18-22 year old females with a small child and pitbull who were walking behind and shouting obscenities at a group of females in front of them? It took place around Spuds where one of the pitbull-females threw water at one of the girls in front of them trying to initiate a fight. After the water throwing failed, pitbull-girls proceeded to follow the girls to Slices at which point the obscenities continued (very loudly) and the pitbull-girls sprayed one of the girls with mustard….If you saw this, please PM me. Thank you

Bad behavior on Alki? Surely you jest! At least my pitbull doesn’t know how to spray mustard, I have trained him well.

I have never witnessed good behavior on Alki.

I wish that whatever magnetic field that pulls in such negativity could be modified to direct all do badders to say Kirkland.

And not Juanita Kirkland, but downtown Kirkland. They can hang out right next to all the parked Bentleys. I would love to see a little shake up at Houghton Beack Park or Waverly Park.

Lucile – after noticing this is multiple threads, I just gotta ask…what’s with the Eastside bashing? Seems like there must be a good story behind your apparent hate for the “rich-filled” Eastside.

EDIT: Just saw your comment in the Marin’d thread (https://westseattleblog.com/blog/forum/topic.php?id=5241) and think it’s odd that there you say people shouldn’t be judged by where they live.

Boy, that was sure helpful… If you read the post, I asked for you to PM me (but then no one would see how funny you can be Vincent)

BTW, one of the girls harrassed that day received a threatening message on her phone late that evening….just wanted know if/what anyone saw.

I assume the answer from the above posters is a simple “no” ???

from your post in #10, I am going to assume that you are one of the victims, or know them personally. I’m sorry this has happened, but you have to remember this is a public forum, so comments will come.

If she received a threatening call, then maybe the perps knew her? Has the incident been reported?

I work in downtown Kirkland, so I was just specifying where it would be best to direct such behavior, as suggested by KeepinItReal. Don’t get me wrong, I lived in the Marina in San Francisco. We all do it (maybe not you, alki, but that shows you are more classier than me), but for example, many people here think Eastern Washington inhabitants are redneck republicans, and I know that there is some bad blood here that Californians moved her and jacked up the price of real estate. I think it is just a pride issue, everyone thinks their neighborhood/lifestyle is the coolest. It is just poking fun at that.

You can see that on any given weekend on Alki Beach. Lot of irresponsible people flock their.

Any beach has the same issues, and if the cops who have increased their numbers would get out of their cars and take care of this stuff rather than tell bicyclists to put a helmet on we might have less of it.

The hatred of the Eastside, and seemingly the particular areas that have money or nice cars is typical liberal Seattle hippy talk. Class warfare is pathetic and if it is the best you can do, I feel bad for ya.

Notice that those who talk like this also seem to dislike those who love at Alki too, a jealousy that is pretty obvious.

Lucile, thanks for the response. I have seen a general ‘eastside people are all rich and therefore they suck’ type of attitude from others in West Seattle, so was just wondering why you (from SF) would harbor the same sentiment. Besides, there are plenty of neighborhoods in Bellevue and Kirkland that are at the low end of “middle class”. Each Eastside city contains different demographics depending on area, just as West Seattle has different demographics amongst the various neighborhoods…and Alki seems to be a target of classist comments quite often.

I wasn’t aware of the Eastern Washington = republican redneck association though.

And Lucile…the term was “Californication”. ;-)

i thought Oregon’s governor Tom McCall coined the phrase californicate… but wiki says i was wrong.. he uttered the sentiment to a national magazine.. but not the phrase…

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Californication_(portmanteau)

i see this not so much as class warfare as a state of mind… californication :)))

It’s not so much about having money.. it’s about what you do with it. When i was in my formative years a very wise and exceedingly rich woman told me that you could recognize the truly wealthy by their impeccable manners, sensible clothing and charitable works:)

I think that’s still true regardless of the size of your bank account.

I went to DT Kirkland bars after a wedding recentgly and guess what the behavior was awful In less than two hours the police were called to two different bars. This is far worse than a typical night in Alki so, Lucile & KeepinItReal, these “do-badders” already hang in Kirkland. Where else would you suggest they go??

tsunamnw & alki_2008 your posts are speaking to the choir.

Hey, I’m an unapologetic easterner — so I know that everyone west of the Rockies (when I’m feeling generous) is a bit, um, slow, regardless of their political or economic condition. And yeah, I’m kidding — sort of :-)

Why you gotta bring the dogs into it? Would you have mentioned if they had another dog, like a bulldog?

And I meant “great” w/out any sarcasm. Living and loving on Alki? Sweet. The threatening behavior would unnerve me totally, by the way.

    Rachel,

Just trying to give an accurate description of what I was told. Probably didn’t need to add “small child” maybe “3 females” would have done the trick

    But clearly, no witnesses..Damn :)
