c@lbobMemberActually, my SS and defined benefit PERS pension are going to be far better deals for me than my worthless 401Ks.
A major reason I have to do all I can to deny office to Rs.

jamminjMember401K’s are a joke. took my money out many moons. If you know what you are doing, you can do better in vegas than wall street. Wouldn’t trust some silver spoon fed ceo with my hard earned cash.

kootchmanMemberSee jamminJ… Ponzi, Madoff, all ran out of suckers… the federal government never will…. they can force you to kick in more to the scheme… even when you know it is a scheme. Ponzi and Madoff never had the power to tax.
“Ponzi, Miller, Maddoff…, they made their money scamming people.. thru the govt???…nope – thru wall street.” Psssst… a hint for ya.. Wall Street didn’t get all the money either. They spent it..

kootchmanMemberPoor c@bob.. 401K and Defined pension plans all go to the same place ..Wall Street… fact probably some to Bain Capital. . when it all comes down, it all comes down. Your pension plan is no more secure than a 401K. Ask Sacramento, Sand Diego, San Jose… your pension plan invests in the same instruments. Broke is broke… and as one muni after another is revealing… a muni in bankruptcy gets to toss those defined benefits plans out the window… oops. Keep on believing though…. it’s less stressful. Haven’t ya noticed? When entitlements exceed the capacity of government to fund them.. they get trimmed. Your most fervent prayer should be you get budget balancing county and state executives.

c@lbobMemberFrom the PERS June 2012 quarterly report:
“Performance for all annualized time periods are positive. The PERS Comingled Trust Fund outperformed the passive benchmark all time periods. It is exceeding the actuarial return of 8% for the 3 year time period and since inception.” The Comingled Trust Fund was established in 1981.
Washington’s retirement system is one of the top four in the nation, along with New York, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
The only real problem with the Washington fund is that it is directly controlled by the legislature, who look upon it as a piggy bank to make up for the freeloaders among the citizentry who insist that they can’t be taxed to pay for public services and infrastructure.
Leeches are consistantly attempting to drain PERS.
Just as with Social Security. Private retirement systems, too.
Throw out the Paul Ryans of the world, and retirement looks rosier for me, and that’s how I’ll vote.

JoBParticipantc@lbob..
there was atime when kootch would have applauded you for being smart enough to choose a job that included pension benefits
that’s before he found out how lucrative it could be to big business and government’s bottom line to dump those pension obligations…
he wants to keep every penny he earns..
but has no problem taking your hard earned benefits :(
doesn’t seem fair
does it?
