jamminjMemberTune into Obama’s State of the Union and see what socialist America-haters he is channeling! This Kenyan Socialist is out to put the free market on trial, clearly. A Mark Fiore political animation.
well worth watching ’til the end.

jamminjMember‎Rick Santorum says that government should stay out of the banking and loan business. He says that ‘the free market should be allowed to work.’
Yet there is something you might not know about Mr. Santorum. He bought his home in 1983 with a government secured loan. Without the government’s intervention his family would not have had a place to live. Once again proving the age old mantra of do as I say, not as I do.

NFiorentiniMemberJamminj – Thank you for posting that. I’m a huge fan of Neil deGrasse Tyson and I’ve added it to my FB page. I think that everyone needs to take the five or so minutes to watch this.
Edit: Here’s a lengthy article entitled “The Case for Space” from Tyson in Foreign Affairs magazine…

Good Friday is when pro-death penalty Christians mark the execution of anti-death penalty Jesus; and it’s all irony-free.

HMC RichParticipantJamminj, I have seen or heard these quotes before. And I can find quotes from Democrats that sound like Republicans or possibly even conservative from the other side of the aisle.
Lets see… The era of Big Government is over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv7MZr-JkEM It is short so your brain will be able to process it.
As a matter of fact in his speech he said the following …We must answer here three fundamental questions: First, how do we make the American Dream of opportunity for all a reality for all Americans who are willing to work for it? Second, how do we preserve our old and enduring values as we move into the future? And, third, how do we meet these challenges together, as one America?….
Unlike Mr. Obama, Mr. Clinton was trying to essentially have us work together instead of being a divider like the current Commander in Chief.
Now, here are two more paragraphs right after the previous one. Draw the contrast between him and President Obama.
We know big government does not have all the answers. We know there’s not a program for every problem. We have worked to give the American people a smaller, less bureaucratic government in Washington. And we have to give the American people one that lives within its means.
The era of big government is over. But we cannot go back to the time when our citizens were left to fend for themselves. Instead, we must go forward as one America, one nation working together to meet the challenges we face together. Self-reliance and teamwork are not opposing virtues; we must have both.
You tell me who has swerved off the road. I especially like the one that says we must live within our means.
5 Trillion in extra Debt Jamminj in three years. 4 Trillion in eight years before that. Both Presidents and Congresses spent too damn much. So either get with the program or more people will be hurt when the federal government collapse.
Utopia is not possible. Time to figure it out.

HMC RichParticipantYes, he had the SEALs get Bin Laden. They are tired of being used. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2137636/SEALs-slam-Obama-using-ammunition-bid-credit-bin-Laden-killing-election-campaign.html
Are they going to give Bush credit for getting the infrastructure in place so that the military and the President had the intel? Probably not. And the military infrastructure draw down continues.
Libya…He was forced into it by Britain and France/ NATO. It almost backfired. And he was wishy washy on that too for a bit.
And dammit, did the President use Organic donuts? He should have went to the place in Green Lake. http://www.mightyo.com/
or maybe even Voodoo Donuts in Portland.

HMC RichParticipantAs I a finish off a nice cake doughnut, read this. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-05-01/obama-fails-to-stem-middle-class-slide-he-blamed-on-bush.
W never blamed Clinton for the minor recession he inherited.
To Continue. Katrina was bad for Mike Brown and Bush. But you forgot to mention the BP Deepwater Horizon debacle. Imagine that.
And technically, Bush started the Wall Street Bailout, although they said one thing and did another.
As far as that bumper sticker … it is sickening and not representative of most of the Republican voters. But unfortunately there are some. completely tasteless.

redblackParticipantkatrina was a natural disaster, and conservatives’ position on new orleans: let it rot, because it doesn’t belong there anyway. no money for levees for the below-sea-level liberal den of iniquity.
the BP spill was man-made, and it occurred because of “drill baby drill.” that’s what you wanted, and that’s what it gets ya’.
yeah, obama’s response was inadequate. all gulf drilling should have ceased immediately, and the u.s. should now own all of BP’s assets. should have sued those bastards out of existence.
hey, speaking of owning assets, you guys call GM “government motors,” but you don’t say the same thing about the banks that got bailed out.
imagine that.

JanSParticipantoh, yeah, and look where GM is now…at the top…imagine that…
