PT Veterinary Assistant Needed

What we’re looking for:

– Part-time Veterinary Assistant, preferably with prior experience working in a veterinary clinic.

– Possesses self-motivation, neatness, and an eye for detail and cleanliness.

– Must be able to work Saturdays and evening hours.

– Experience with animal handling, restraint, and basic medical terminology preferred.

– Clinic hours are from 7:30am to 8pm (Mon-Thurs), 7:30 – 5:30pm Fridays, and 9am – 1:30pm on Saturdays.

Position Requirements:

– Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent preferred

– Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted

– This position requires long periods of standing or walking throughout the day.

– Basic Math and English Skills

– Must qualify for Washington State Medication Clerk Licensing within 30 days of hire.

The exam room assistant is critical to the smooth flow of appointments and the timely check in and out of owners. You will be responsible for greeting clients, showing them to the exam rooms and letting doctors know an appointment is ready. This position involves cleaning exam rooms, preparing any needed supplies for the visit, and preparing the electronic medical record for the doctor. If requested, the exam room assistant makes entries in the medical record as the doctor dictates his or her findings.
