I was almost hit by a white pickup truck this morning, while crossing Admiral on 47th. I waited for the walk signal, then started across, and I was in the middle when the truck came zooming down 47th and turned left, without slowing. I hit his car with my hand twice to get his attention. He yelled out the window “I’m sorry!” twice, while turning up Admiral, but that is not enough. Drivers, please, look out for pedestrians and runners. We are doing our best to stay healthy and safe and this sort of behavior makes it very dangerous.

The new flashing signals are dangerous for all. As soon as someone pushes the crosswalk signal and it flashes immediately and people step off the sidewalk simultaneously. A car cannot stop on a dime. Pedestrians please look to make sure car has time to slow down and stop. So many push and step down at same time.
