roguedeluxMemberI haven’t seen any news about the construction being done by Pilchuck on 35th/Roxbury and Barton (towards the ferry) or the reason behind it. The street signs posted indicate this work will continue though January (?). I ask because this work was a) unannounced, and b) impacts our daily living.
1) we have lost almost 1 block of street parking
2) the metal plates are loud and disruptive at all times of the day/night
3) our gas was shut off (without ANY notice), and we had to wait (and miss an entire day of work) to have it turned back on
4) the construction noise during the day is impossible to block out.
Maybe if my neighbors and I understood what the greater good was, we could all be patient and tolerate this through January.
Thanks WSB!

flowerpetalMemberPilchuck was coantracted by PSE to upgrade gas lines (I’m sure there is a more indepth explanation). I did recieve notice weeks ago and I can’t remember if it was in the mail or hung on my door.

WSBKeymasterMy calls to PSE have not been returned. I’m trying again today. And also to SDOT to search for a project manager because they should have had to have give permits, or something.

WSBKeymasterPSE still incommunicado but this post that I just published has the info SDOT gave me. They say it’s SUPPOSED to be into early December – I will go have a look at those street signs tomorrow morning – January?

curiousMemberWHY do they have TWO state troopers on the scene? What a waste of money!

JimmyGMembercurious, the troopers aren’t there working during their on-duty time, it’s an off duty job paid for by the contractor.
Your tax dollars aren’t paying for them to be there.

WSBKeymasterAnybody else who reads this now that it’s been bumped up by new posts – we have since done two followups on this project:

curiousMemberTwo state troopers are an unnecessary expense, I AM paying for it as a PSE customer (it’s all a part of the contractors fee). (And the patrol cars? State property, fueled with state dollars and maintained by state dollars: my tax dollars, your tax dollars.) I am quite certain traffic cones (and the HUGE electric arrows affixed to the work trucks) are sufficient.
