I’d assumed everyone knew it’s illegal to do that? I’m referring to the people who pass buses in two lane “intersections”, pass on the left, and blithely drive into oncoming traffic in the middle of an intersection. One of those oncoming drivers almost smashed into me tonight.

    Is it just me?

Last week we witnessed an impatient someone passing a Metro bus on the left, WHILE the bus was also trying to turn Left, IN the intersection of Delridge to Oregon. The impatient driver thought it could pass a bus in a very limited intersection and zoom up Oregon. This idea put the impatient driver into potential head long traffic in a very sharp curve. And the impatient driver didn’t see the garbage truck in front of the bus. We were headed in the opposite direction on Delridge, but I can only imagine the shock and surprise when the clueless driver encountered…Obstacles they weren’t counting on because they weren’t thinking clearly when they got in their car that morning.

I hope no one was hurt. But I wish people would think before they tried nutty passes in intersections.

I see this all the time.

I was downtown on V-Day and on the way back, we almost got t-boned (to the extent that a coup could t-bone a metro :P ) because he tried to pass while we turned left up 35th right off the WSbridge.

I wish there was an IQ test of some kind that you have to past with flying colors before you are allowed a drivers license. Not IQ in the sense of “How fast can you recognize the patterns in this series of obscure pictures?!” But a test on commonsense, logic, responsibility and patience.
