TheHouseMemberVillagegreen, My comment about family values and ideological values was is reference to Palin if she were to take office (that’s who your original question was asking about). I’m well aware of McCain’s shortcomings.
I’ve stated on other threads that economically, the country is not in as bad of shape as people make it out to be (GDP is high and unemployment is not that bad if you look throughout history). Our current financial institution collapse cannot be blamed solely on George Bush, he was warning us of issues for years. The weight falls on the shoulders of Dems in Congress that thought people were acting like Chicken Little chanting “the sky is falling”. In reality, it was.
BDG, you continue to criticize Palin for her lack of foreign policy experience. She is a VP candidate. Obama has as much foreign policy experience as her and he’s running for Prez. What’s the difference?
If Obama becomes President, I predict the next 4 years will be some of the bleakest years this country has seen. If you think the Carter years were tough to swallow, just wait.

villagegreenMemberTheHouse – so, you listed ‘family values’ as the first reason you’d rather have Palin as President than Obama. I asked you to explain how Obama’s family values are weak in your opinion. Again, please explain.
BTW – to blame the current financial collapse on the Dems in Congress is hilarious.

beachdrivegirlParticipantTheHouse,
Yes I do criticize Palin for her lack of foreign policy experience b/c she does not have any. She didnt even get her passport until last year.
Obama does have foreign policy experience
–Served on three U.S. Senate Committees: Foreign Relations; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Veterans’ Affairs committees.
–Chaired the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on U.S./European Relations.
Furthermore, my commit above wasnt actually criticizing her experience. It was criticizing the fact that she cannot handle herself infront fo foreign leaders which is one of the most critical parts of the job.

CaitParticipantForcing your daughter to marry some idiot that got her pregnant doesn’t seem like family values to me. When they get divorced in 6 months I’m sure it will be a mark on her record.

ellenaterMemberI think the main difference between Obama and Palin is that Obama has the capacity to grow and learn in his position as president, and Palin does not appear to. I think this because the very act of agreeing to be VP shows that she makes poor choices. Also, her comment on Alaska and Russia, and her follow-up to that comment is unforgivable. Palin is a bubblehead. I don’t actually know if she is just ignorant, or stupid as well. Obama has the self knowledge to know he needs help, thus choosing Biden. This further proves to me that he is trustworthy and living in relative reality. Again, Palin is an unevolved monkey.
