I’d like to have my parents come in to visit from out of town, but I need somewhere adequate for them to stay. What are the hotel or B&B options? I’m sure with all the wonderful views and Alki there must be at least some bed and breakfast options, if not a hotel this side of the bridge.

My home is located about equal distance from Admiral and the Alaska Junction in the Genesee neighborhood and for accommodations—the closer the better.

I had family stay at the Villa Heidelberg, on 45th and Ersline way about 6 yrs ago. It was handy for location, and they reported it was clean. But the breakfast never materialized and the communal living area had many storage boxes in it.

It was reasonably priced and very convenient though. Here is a link to their website.

We have used vrbo.com for family vacations and they have some properties listed in West Seattle. This is a list of available homes rented by indivdual owners.

My parents stayed at Villa Heidelberg about a year and a half ago and loved it. Really enjoyed the breakfasts…not one was missed.

I put some family members up at Ivy Court Apts. in the Morgan Junction — talk to Donna Olsen, it’s a formal apt. building but they keep a unit or 2 available for short term rentals…. they are fully furnished and were really easy with a Starbuck’s on the corner and Thriftway across the street! 206-932-0355

My parents as well as other family members have rented homes from owners on this site. It has always been very easy to use and have a variety of choices. We have also used for my fiance’s grandmother the b&b by endolyne joes. Great place! best of luck to you!!

Here is another web site you can consider. I have not used them, but found it accidently. They look quite nice.

I used to live in the big concrete bunker at 61st and Stevens called Stevens Crest Apartments, and walked by that little brick house many times, always commented about it. It’s a vacation rental…wow…again…maybe I need to go on vacation here in West Seattle :)
