I am afraid i have let us all down.. I got sick and kept thinking i would get better.. but today i realized the picnic is little over a week away and i haven’t done much to make it happen…

i didn’t even get the picnic site reserved…

someone else did that for me.

so.. i have asked Miws if he would take it on.

please give him all the help you can.

    Thanks, Kevin, Jan, and JoB!

Sorry I’m late in responding here. Was semi out of commission yesterday. Jo knows why, and Jan and a few others probably have a good idea as to why. ;-)

Yes! Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! I was born with neither the leadership/take charge gene, nor the organizational gene.

To those that are on the e-mail string that Jo started, I’ll try to reply to that sometime today. I’ll CC Kevin, to get him in on it.

Have chores and a quick-ish errand to do throughout the morning.

Also, I should state here, that I have appointments at Harborview tomorrow, (Monday) which will have me gone from mid-morning, until early/mid-afternoon, and then another appointment up there, early-mid afternoon on Thursday. Having to ride the bus, takes up some of that time.

So, if I’m seemingly late to reply here, at least on those days, that’s why.

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to this!

I’m going to put this out there, just because I am obsessing over it for some reason, even though it’s rather obvious, but we need to figure out either on this thread, and/or among those of us on JoB’s e-m she sent out yesterday, but, we need to figure out paper/plastic serving ware.

I suppose that would be done on a Costco run.

Okay, hopefully won’t obsess on that anymore. ;-)

Right now the Weather Forecast for Sunday is looking good! Sunny, and around 70, I think.

The Meteorologist warned that it’s still too far out to tell for sure, but so fa so good!

this is first I’ve heard about a picnic (I don’t spend much time on the forum); so there’s an email list? is all the info about this picnic in this post? or more details somewhere? I’m feeling very out-of-the-loop on this one

Here’s the original forum post if you want to wade through it all, Diane: https://westseattleblog.com/forum/topic/forum-picnic But the details are in Jan’s post #2 above, with more to come in this thread or if you send your email address to JoB (post #11). Everyone welcome!

hi, all…keeping this at the top of the list. Hoping that a lot (a few?) of you all want to put a face with a name. Time is getting short…space at Lincoln Park has been reserved for this coming Sunday, 10/05….3pm….so make plans now, if even for just a little while, and to score a hotdog :) I hear there might be homemade potato salad, and mebbe some beans…mmmmmmmm, potato salad (just watched a Homer Simpson video – lol)

Yes, please comment here, if you can, or are even likely to make it!

Right now, it looks like the hot dogs, soda pop, and bottled water will be provided, otherwise pretty much a potluck, if anyone that is able would like to bring something. But obviously, that is absolutely not a requirement. Just bring yourselves. (Hint: for anyone still uncomfortable not bringing anything, look for anyone in the parking lot struggling with that crockpot full of beans or whatever, and offer to carry it in. Even better if it ends up being someone from another event, to save the awkwardness when everyone in our group raves over “your” beans,!) ;-)

As far as the potato salad that Jan mentions: good luck prying the bowl outta my hands! ;-)

So, yeah, this’ll be here before we know it, and we’re still hoping for nice weather!

    bumping to the top..

thinking about coming? There’s no formal RSVP page, but saying so here would be nice because you’re nice and we want to meet your nice face :)

Thanks for organizing this; I met Jan and Mike at the only other forum meet-up I’ve known about, at the bowling alley; what was that, about 5yrs ago?

I don’t require sun for the picnic, but NO rain would be a really good thing

Diane…it HAS been a while since we had a meetup..and this idea of a picnic is informal, and will allow a chance to just meet, sit and visit, get to know some people we know but haven’t met yet. :) Hope some more are considering coming. And if your idea of what to bring is chips, hope we get some good dips :D

just for drill…the picnic is in Lincoln Park, Shelter #1, nearest parking lot is the south parking lot (please don’t leave purses, or anything of value in your cars…notorious for theft in this lot).

Here is the Parks page with pictures, and map of where it’s located…

3pm…be there or be..well, you know
