Local Movers

We could use some recommendations on local movers – well priced, dependable, trustworthy.

We currently live in the Alki area (apartment), and will be moving to a home in November (still West Seattle).

Any ideas on what it should cost?

Want to get it planned asap.

When we moved from North Seattle to West Seattle in 1997, we used Aaron Glide Self Mover Service.

The reason for selecting them over any other moving company is that they are NOT regulated by the Public Utility & Transportation Commission, which sets uniform rates for all moving companies.

Since YOU rent the moving truck, they get out of being regulated. You are hiring experienced labor.

As a result they are able to offer very reasonable rates, usually by the hour, instead of some over inflated estimate that you would get from one of the large companies.

They will bring a small van full of furniture blankets, tie downs, dollies, and everything else that is required for a move.

You can drive the rental truck, or they will if you prefer.

I have recommended them to many friends over the years, and have never heard a complaint.

Strong guys too! They hauled our half full chest freezer out of the old basement and into the new basement WITHOUT having to remove the contents!

Additionally, there was NO damage to any of our possessions.

Skeptical? Feel free to contact me regarding our move, or better yet, get a free estimate from one of the large moving companies, and then get an estimate from Aaron Glide. You will likely be shocked at what one of the big companies will charge.

And while all this might sound like an advertisement – it is not! I just love to share my experience with others because of the outstanding service and cost savings.

PS – I also speak from experience – as I was a professional long distance mover in a previous life, many, many years ago :)
