I recently had occasion to try the services of A-1 Best Computer, the new owners of Quidnunc. My 6-year-old original 600MHz white iBook’s trackpad was broken. The Mac Store said it was a connection failure on the mother board and I would need to get a new motherboard for roughly $650. Quidnunc’s new services include component-level repair and they perfectly repaired the trackpad’s connection on the motherboard and even replaced the top cover for a little under $300. This level repair work goes to A-1 Best Computer’s main shop on Lake City Way so it’s totally local, still.

Great job and reasonable price. Kudos to the new owners of Quidnunc. By the way, in case my coding is as pathetic on this board as it usually is, here’s the url – “www.laptopfix.com” —

Bill Hibler, creator of Quidnunc, sold the business, but retained ownership of its ISP. A little something to supplement his retirement I think…
