My house is too small to host a birthday party for my son, so I’m hoping to get some fun ideas for birthday parties in or close to West Seattle for a four year old. In the past, I’ve done Lincoln Park and Little Gym. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You should check out Camp Long. They have a room at the lodge you can rent or you can reserve one of the larger cabins as your “home” base for the party. There’s a climbing wall and an the old school game of capture the flag would be super fun in the woods.

We recently attended a 4yo’s birthday party at the YMCA, and it was great. The kids had some time on a really nice bouncy house/obstacle course, followed by snacks and cake in an adjacent party room. The parents told me the YMCA staff did all the setup AND cleanup. I didn’t ask if you needed to be a member to have access.

I’ve seen birthday parties at the Seattle Gymnastics Academy in Columbia City. I’ve never been a part of one, but the kids are there during an Indoor Playground session then they go upstairs for the party. Could be worth checking out.

We’ve done an art party at the place above Curious Kidstuff, decorate your own cupcakes at Baked, and West Seattle Bowl. All were awesome! My daughter’s birthday is near Christmas so anything outside is pretty much out.

Young at Art does birthday parties as well. Another option is to reserve the upstairs room at Southwest Library. It is free and open to the public for reservation. It is large enough for activities or crafts.

I just signed my son up for a class at Gildenfire Dance in White Center. Saw on her page that she does birthday parties. http://www.gildenfiredance.com/birthdayparties.html

Not in West Seattle but the Federal Way Community Center has an awesome pool. Great for kids with slides, lazy river, etc. They do birthday parties. http://itallhappenshere.org/swim.html

Another outside west Seattle option is Fox hollow farm in Issaquah. Great place for our city kids to get up close with farm animals and there’s a train ride!

Full Tilt will let you create an ice cream flavor for your child’s party – at least they used to!

Thanks to everyone for all the great ideas! I decided to go with the YMCA and their inflatable obstacle course package.
