Just wanted everyone to know two things. One: June is Adopt a Shelter Cat month, and the Seattle Humane Society (which is ironically housed in Bellevue) is offering free adoptions this month! Cats only — over a year — no kittens.
Second: We didn’t even know about this “deal” when we went in search of a big lovable lug of a cat to round out our animal household. We found a true gem — Ernie. He’s 20 lbs., huge-boned, 9 years old, and has extra toes. His personality is fabulous. Smart, calm amidst our kid-and other-cat-and-dog filled home, affectionate without being needy, follows us from room-to-room. We feel like we landed with our nose in the butter! I’ll post his picture soon.
