mellaw6565MemberJanS – I’ve found the crankiness on this forum no matter what the weather. Unfortunate IMO.

JanSParticipantI just read TR’s Twitter post – lol. “hostile crowd at playground meeting”…yeah, it’s gotta be the weather ;-)
Mellaw…I think it’s like the difference between loving someone and love loving someone…there’s our regular everyday cranky…and then there’s today’s cranky crankiness…just up a notch >;)
maybe when the sun is out things will be better…
you’re probably already back in the classroom…that would be a good enough excuse for me after a couple of months off :)
by the by..how’s the partner doing now? everything all cleared up? I’m still glad it was nothing but an infection. :)
JoB..I could use a couple of laughs like that this week…pass them on :)

mellaw6565MemberThanks JanS – I needed a friendly hug on this space. Not back in the classroom yet – next week and school starts the 3rd. I love going back after the summer – I’m as excited as the kids are!!
Partner is still having issues with recurrent infections, but still no opinion that it is IBD; the specialist says she’ll probably have these infections on/off for many years. Another option would be to remove the duct, but that gets complicated too. But thanks for checking in….
I really don’t think I’ve been cranky, just tired of getting beat up and finally decided to fight back. Now I’m just thinking that I need to just exit myself from WSB permanently as I just can’t stand all the rancor. I really like to explore ideas and topics with others, and to challenge their thought processes, but the meanness on these forums just really gets to me and then my partner gets mad at me and tells me to not to participate. She’s a smart woman – I should listen to her. Apparently everyone on here thinks I’m horrible anyway – although I think I’m so tame compared to other posts. Guess I don’t get it.
Oh well, back to teaching debating with kids who want to explore, learn, and express their opinions in a safe and inviting environment. I thought this blog would give me an adult chance to do that, but guess you can’t have everything.

GenHillOneParticipantSomeone once told me that b***chiness is not a religion, but if it were, we’d all have our days in church…some are just more religious than others ;)

WSMomParticipantHey, project runway is on!! That will turn my mood around!!!

JoBParticipantmellaw6565..
it don’t think you are horrible.. i just think some days it’s not a good idea to add fuel to a fire..
and today seems to be one of those days in spite.. or perhaps because of… all the water falling from the sky.
i am sorry your partner isn’t doing well. my son had a very frightening brush with a pulmonary embollism.. so empathy comes naturally right now…
and that includes empathy for NR. Contrary to popular opinion, i wasn’t trashing NR… i genuinely offered to help her find a place to live.
I don’t know how many i have personally toured here in West Seattle, but i have seen a lot of houses. I check Craig’s List 3 times a day and ask to see every house that looks suitable… and i have been doing so for nearly a month.
i have a unique set of needs.. a hubby who needs a shorter public transport commute.. dogs who need a very securely fenced area to play… a tub large enough to soak a grown woman’s bones and head on occasion… at least 2 bedrooms.. no stairs if i can help it… and 2 bathrooms really would help. Oh.. and did i forget the 20+ pots of herbs and veggies that need a home? And i’d like to do all of that on a budget.
I have looked at a lot of houses.
I have found two. the owner fell back in love with one house while she was fixing it back up to rent and moved in herself. the other was for sale before he gave up and decided to rent.. and of course that is the day he got an offer.
life is too short to overlook help when it is offered in favor of confrontation.

mellaw6565MemberTrue about NR JoB – and your attempts to help her were noticed and appreciated by many of us. I never see you trashing people, so my comments really were aimed elsewhere.
Too bad that my place is rented – it’s only a 1 bedroom/1 bath, but meets all of your other requirements, including an organic garden for your herbs and a secure yard. Alas, we have someone living there who will stay for a while, but I’ll continue to look around. How big are your dogs? And what kind of herbs – legal or illegal? LOL

beachdrivegirlParticipantwhat grade do you teach mellaw? My mom, sister, and brother are/were teachers. Loving the kids must run in my blood.
August 21, 2008 at 3:35 pm #634844
JoBParticipantmellaw6565..
i am afraid all of my herbs are legal.. it’s not that i wouldn’t if i could.. but every time i get too close to the smoke i end up in the ER…
Boy was i drag in the 60s… didn’t get invited a lot of places because of it:)
The dogs are 30 pound shibas… and are a complete joy to me.
today will be the day i find a place.. or not:) I can use all the help i can get.
