Is there any other provider I could use??? I know CenturyLink is in progress of expanding but while we’re waiting, any other companies selling internet than comcast? They just raised my bill like 80%! :( I live in Gatewood area. Thanks.

Is CenturyLink definitely not available where you are? We have them as well as Comcast, on the Gatewood/Upper Fauntleroy line, because we need as much redundancy as possible for business reasons. And we have a Verizon mi-fi, usually so we can connect wherever we’re working in the field, but it’s also deployed around the house sometimes too and works just fine (4G). Good luck! – TR

I have Centurylink fiber and it’s great. I’m in the Alaska Jct. area.

Unfortunately where I live century link provides only 1,5 mbps speed. That is way too slow for my streaming needs.

There is a principle of business that it is much more expensive to acquire a new customer than to keep an existing customer. Understanding that principle, whenever your promo deal with Comcast expires, just call them up and threaten to switch unless they give you their current new customer deal. I imagine the same strategy would work with the other providers as well.
