Incoming Lafayette Kindergartener!

We’re new to West Seattle and have just enrolled our daughter to start Kindergarten at Lafayette Elementary in the fall. Does anybody know of any resources for parents of Lafayette students, or if there are there any mixers to meet other kids during the summer? Our previously assigned neighborhood school had a facebook group and a few summer meetings planned for parents to get involved/meet each other, but I haven’t been able to find anything yet for Lafayette. Hello,

Launch is still providing scholarships to attend our kindergarten readiness programs, we have openings at our Sanislo Elementary Location and our Maple Elementary Location. If your child has never attend a preschool or has kindergarten readiness needs, please fill out an application if you are interested. Your family may still qualify for a scholarship even if you attend Lafayette. Applications can be found on our website launchlearning.org This program prepares students for kindergarten but also provides them with a fun camp experience and family engagement events!

Hello & Welcome!

My daughter will be a 2nd grader next year at Lafayette. I would recommend calling Lafayette directly and Kathy the head secretary will be able to answer specifically what will be happening for the incoming kinders. I know the summer prior to my daughter entering kindergarten there were 3 or 4 random “playdates” for parents & kiddos to meet at the school playground as well as “Jumpstart” which started the Kindergarten class a week early for a few hours each day. I cannot say for certain if any or all of this still happens but Kathy is the one to ask :) Welcome. Lafayette is an awesome place to be.
