hammerheadParticipantto the SOB who put this kitten in a box marked FREE and just left it on the corner for chance. How dare you, you piece of s**t. This Siamese mix is a female and if she had gotten out she would have had babies this year.
Thank god my employee (I have taught her well) looked and called me asap. The little kitten is in good hands.
See it isn’t that we aren’t trying to S/N all these cats it is dumba$$es that do crap like this that make rescuers jobs even harder.

justcuzMemberI’m with you, Bonnie. My favorite (borrowed) battle cry these days – “Stop animal & child abuse…spay and neuter mean and selfish people!”

BonnieParticipanthammerhead, we’ve actually been looking for a female kitten. We had to put our 16 year old Persian down last fall and my daughter has been wanting another kitten. Is she still available? We’re looking for female, indoor and short would be nice.
February 12, 2010 at 4:47 am #688248
hammerheadParticipantYes I actually have alot of females available go to petfinder.com and you can see them. http://www.petfinder.com/shelterSearch/shelterSearch.cgi?shelterid=WA451 hopefully this will work I am not very good at this copy/paste stuff.
There are 2 that do need to go as a pair, a black one(sophie)and Jasmine(siamese mix).
NO DECLAWING is a main requirement you can also email me at feraltrapping@gmail.com

BonnieParticipantLet me talk to hubby. We do want a kitten and female though because the last time we got a 5 year old male cat and he sprayed all over our house. He’s outdoors now and we still have him and love him but he sprays everywhere! He’ll even go up to our door in front of us and spray.
I wouldn’t declaw. That is mean!
A few of the cats said no kids. I have an almost 6 year old and a 9 1/2 year old so I have to keep an eye out for one that is good for kids.

luckymom30ParticipantI agree that declawing is mean but what do you sugegest to keep urniture from getting all clawed up? We have scracthing posts and 2 large cat towers but they still like to scratch at the furniture. We have a male (former feral) and a female (adopted) cat.

herongrrrlParticipantLuckymom–I’ve heard good things about claw caps but haven’t tried them myself.
How we’ve kept our furniture intact with our cats so far:
–treat the scratching towers with catnip so they are very attractive
–put double-sided tape, foil, or balloons on the furniture in areas where they like to scratch. They don’t like the sticky tape or the feel of the foil, and if they scratch the balloons and they pop it’s like a message from the Kitty Gods to never, ever scratch there again!
–Use a squirt gun or spray bottle and squirt when you catch them in the act. The trick with this is to say nothing–don’t yell at them to stop as you do it, or they associate the spraying with you and will scratch when you aren’t around. If they just get randomly sprayed when they misbehave, they associate the bad behavior with the unpleasant sensation and it is a good deterrent.
