birdygirlMemberI’ve never had a house cleaner or used any housekeeping service before. Newly pregnant and just can’t get the strength to keep up with the house. Leery of using a “service” as I hear they have a high turn over rate…would prefer something more personal if possible. The thought of random people going through the house makes me uncomfortable…
Would anyone have any recommendations? Thinking every 2 weeks, would love weekly if can afford.

charlabobParticipantPamela Staeheli — exceptional cleaning service — we’ve used her since we’ve been in WS. She and her team are great with people and murder on dirt :-) (Hammerhead on these forums.) If you do a Google search, you’ll find many more recommendations for Pam.

MargLMemberlol – if you have friends or family in the yardwork business Pam (hammerhead) looks like she’s in the market to trade a housecleaning for landscaping. :-)
We use Dana’s Housekeeping and have had the same house cleaner for 3 years.

Cali101MemberI recommend Louise Binion who has been cleaning our townhome for over a year. She always does a great job and is super reliable. Very trustworthy!

missmandyMemberHi Birdygirl. I second (or third… or fouth) Pamela Brumell. I asked the same question as you a few months ago (toward the end of my pregnancy) and called Pamela based on recomendations. She did an amazing job! I myself never having hired a cleaner before but pretty prideful of my cleanliness came home after she was done to complete amazement. Areas were clean that I didn’t even realize were dirty! It was a bit pricy for the initial cleaning but she is now coming once a month for a lesser charge. She is straight forward and all about business and I really appreciate that. On one other note: You mentioned not wanting random people in your house, I felt the same way and almost had a heart attack when I realized after meeting her and her employee at my place and leaving that I left my wedding ring on the bathroom counter (it still was a bit tight from being prego)… Nothing to worry about though, it was right where I left it when we returned.

benMemberbased on positive feedback from others that my wife and i found in the WSB forum, we just had our initial deep housecleaning with pamela brumell. her responsiveness to our questions and concerns has been thorough, and our house was very clean afterward, just as promised! we look forward to many more cleanings with her.
also, this is slightly off topic, but the volunteer work pamela does on behalf of the feral cat population in west seattle is pretty great — google her name for more info on that.

I am lucky to have a great housecleaner that I’ve worked with for about four years now. She also lives here in west Seattle. She mentioned she is looking for new work. HomerParticipantWow, sounds like Pam is pretty good. Was thinking about having her do a deep clean on our place but wondering what it costs in general for a deep clean? I don’t want to bother her if it’s way too much for me so just trying to get a feel.

amaliaParticipantMaria’s Cleaning LLC! Super efficient and a total bargain (I don’t want to post what I pay because it’s may not be the same price you’ll get, but it was the lowest of 3 bids and they do a superb job).
I just adore Maria – when I decided that the expense was too luxurious, she offered to lower the price or come less often for the same price (this normally costs more). I’m doing that and STILL get a cleaning that lasts the whole 6 weeks between visits.
