I saw this and was surprised, but reading it I found myself in agreement with the vets.

Yes it does work in calming anxiety and even stomach issues.

Haven’t found anyone who has used it for glaucoma, in their pets, as I know it is supposed to work for humans.

I won’t say how I know but I have seen work. There are a bunch of legal issues involved. So I am not quite sure “how it can be done”.

This sounds totally reasonable to me. I may try it on my dog with chronic separation anxiety. As to excessive vocalization, I wonder if it would make my Siamese cat shut the hell up?

We considered it for our shiba’s sudden onset glaucoma … but in the end opted for surgery and what seems be the never ending task of trying to balance a slew of medications as his eye slowly heals…

who knows.. we may yet end up trying it

Still many obstacles to us vets using or recommending this. The largest being that any vet who holds a DEA license is federal regulated through the DEA and our profession has some other federal regulations. Hopefully the federal laws will change to help us be able to use it in our patients that could benefit. Until then we are not legally allowed to recommend or prescribe it.
