What do you do when your back-up of your dead computer dies? Is it worth trying to recover documents from it? I have a dead external hard drive that has all my pictures from 2003-2010 on it. While I have some of these on snapfish, etc, I would love to have the raw files back. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it worth even trying to pay someone to recover them?

Is it the enclosure (no power) or the actual hard drive that is dead. It is not really a backup if you only have one copy. I have three copies of all my photos and videos

Thanks for stating obvious Clark! It WAS a backup to my laptop and basically within a few months of each other both died. And yes, it isn’t a power supply issue, to my knowledge. I now save my photos in three places as a result.
