    Lead Sales Associate

    Mountain to Sound Outfitters has been getting the Seattle, Washington, community out on the snow and water with a wide range of kayaks, stand up paddleboards, skis, snowboards, rentals, accessories and clothing, since 2009.

    Our staff members provide residents and visitors with expert knowledge of sea kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, skiing, and snowboarding. We’re a friendly bunch of folks dedicated to making sure customers have the proper equipment and gear to suit their individual needs and prepare them for adventure on the slopes or the water.
    If you have experience in retail sales, love paddle sports and snow sports, and are passionate about providing customers with personalized assistance and ongoing support for unforgettable experiences, then this is the position for you.

    Sales Responsibilities
    Proactively grow knowledge about store inventory, including independent research, attending clinics, studying catalogs and attending trainings
    Ensure that customers have a fun and memorable shopping experience by providing them with product knowledge, options, and accessories
    Answer the store phone and respond to customer questions by using the website, asking coworkers or using other store resources to find answers
    Process cash and credit card sales using POS system, including recording customer contact information, providing receipts and informing customers about store return policies
    Under supervision of the AGM, assist with sales on store eBay, Craigslist and OfferUp accounts, including listing items, responding to customer questions and mailing and documenting sold items
    When necessary, operate as Sales Lead, prioritize outcomes for each work day and ensure that all staff are appropriately tasked
    Open and close the shop on time and in order to meet customer needs
    Maintain constant communication with management and staff to ensure proper operations of the sales department
    Assist with pre-sale and delivery of kayaks and SUPs, including establishing pricing strategy, customer correspondence, scheduling and collection of delivery fees using Rain
    Monitor customer trends and requests and suggest new products to Buyer(s) and AGM

    Additional Responsibilities
    Under supervision of the AGM, check in new inventory as it arrives, including checking off each item on the packing slip, printing tags, tagging items, uploading packing slip, breaking down and recycling packaging and troubleshooting issues with missing inventory
    Assist with organize new inventory in backstock areas and/or merchandise in store
    Assist with processing of online orders, including customer correspondence and packaging and mailing products
    Assist with bi-annual store inventory and additional batch inventories as needed
    Assist management with occasional office work including filing, mail sorting, data entry as needed
    Process online orders (website and eBay), including picking inventory, printing shipping labels, mailing
    Qualifications
    1-3 years of experience in retail and/or sales
    Must be available weekends
    Must be extremely organized with high attention to detail
    Passion or interest in Northwest paddle sports/winter sports
    Experience with Quickbooks/Office/Excel a plus
    Ability to work with customers and other staff without discrimination
    Excellent technical abilities. Able to learn web platforms quickly and troubleshoot issues independently.
