EdSaneParticipant@Dobro, his statements to police were admissible. Z was under no requirement to testify on his own behalf and you cannot base a verdict/conclusion on his own refusal to testify.

dobroParticipantWhether his statements to police were admissable or not doesn’t change the truth of what I said. He was never under oath or cross examined and his statements were woven into a story by partisan defense attorneys. In my opinion, this leads to reasonable doubt that he told the truth. I’m not on the jury so, of course, it doesn’t matter, but as far as I’m concerned he murdered a 17 year old and got off.

anonymeParticipantAmen, dobro. The more I look at the evidence presented, the worse it looks for Zimmerman – whether he testified or not.
The forensic evidence overwhelmingly contradicted any of the scenarios put forth by the defense. The prosecution was negligent. The judge would not allow any examination in regard to racial profiling. The jury was hand-picked by the defense.
Leading up to the murder, Zimmerman had been training intensely in MMA, and yet we’re to believe he did nothing to defend himself against a vicious attack except to squeal for help.
There’s something about this trial that stinks to high heaven, and it ain’t just rotten crackers.

JanSParticipantanonyme, there are so many things that were glossed over in the trial, things the prosecutor just let go. Seems that the prosecutor’s office didn’t try it’s hardest to prove their case..hence, the verdict…and that young man is still dead…:(

WFMemberthe president spoke on the subject today. i have heard from black acquaintances the same thing and i hope that racism goes the way of the doe doe bird.
having a victim mentality does not help, think if #42 could not stand up to the BS. he had to be better than the others to prove he belonged. we are way past this now, things are better. but there is still a ways to go.
